With internet search engines readily at hand, it is something of a chuckle to read a question asking if Calfee has been working with carbon for long. He made 18 carbon frames ordered by Greg LeMond, for Team Z (per Ritterview's post #41 above). That Greg loved these bikes says a lot.

Here's a white paper from one of the industries most respected builders discussing some of the pros & cons of various materials:

Glad that I could amuse you. I was reading through the discussion and about to turn in late at night and I really don't are enough about Calfee to do a search. But it is obviously a matter of great concern to you, so keep that good info coming for us.

Maybe because the Calfee coolaid tastes great and has a nice long lasting lingering aftertaste.
The nice part is we all have choices and probably none of them are bad

Playing coy are we? Very amused now

To set the record straight, you asked that question about Calfee instead of taking just a minute to do any research. Since you asked, apparently you did care.

twocycle - I'm afraid that I am not clever enough to be coy, but it appears that you are easily amused, which is a good thing, really.

While I appreciate your attempt to "set the record straight", you didn't quite get it right. Yes I was curious, so I did care, but as I said previously, not enough to do a search.

Ritterview's succinct helpful response with a picture of a Lemond bike and Greg racing was very effective, useful and far more enjoyable than reading a wiki page or Calfee's website. In contrast your comment passing judgement on a fellow forum participant's question really isn't useful to anyone.

Finding a lot of opinions in your history, but little if no facts. Let me know when you get around to posting anything useful.

Cheers.

I'm not sure that you would get it anyway, so I'll pass on the notion of sending you an alert. In a thread discussing bike builders and with people some making general statements that a builder has been at it "a long time" some may find it useful for the thread to include some relevant info. You on the other hand seem prefer that each person look it up. That's all well and good but you may have to get used to other people taking a different approach than you do.

Did you want to edit this again or are you good to go now? I realize you may think you are a guru in the ways of forums and qualified to tell others what to post and what not to post, but here's a hint, "Think before you post."

So you care enough to look at my history? Should I be flattered or concerned? Sorry that I can't reciprocate but I have no interest in learning any more about you - I think I understand you quite well.

I'm noting that their trusting their safe landing to ENVE wheels. I think these. Speaks, I think, to the inherent tandem strength of carbon rims in general, and ENVE in particular. #molded_spoke_holes

Now if you are really interested in flying, here is a tandem airbike for about the price of a Calfee :

ISON Tandem AirBike Builder's Log -- Southern airplane tour

Actually, a little cheaper:

JLA Pricelist 2012
