Welcome. I've got a RKA in-charge tank bag on my ST1300. A good book for new tandem riders is "The Tandem Scoop" Out of print but available used on Amazon.

Have you put very many miles on the C-dale?
How do you like the disc brakes?

Welcome to the forum. The 1st thing I'd recommend is to learn how the search function works, there are years and years worth of info in the archives.

358 miles so far.We do have other bicycles ;-)
We have had it since September and in November we did not even ride our solo bikes ;-)
Kathy is LOVING it so far and the DISC brakes are FAB.
We considered used but the price was fantastic although not top of the line running gear, we already bend the 39 on the crank .... HUH? ...
BUT that was a good thing as we replaced it with a 42 and that is where we stay now most of the time.

The real deal was it came OEM with Gaterskins!!!

You might start with this thread ... it has some of that 'secret stuff' in it ...

If there are things in there which you're not sure about ... need more clarification ... we'll be happy to help.

Been riding tandems for over 240,000 miles since 1974 . . . tell you everything we know about tandems??? Got to be kidding!
At ages 82 and 79 we still ride regularly.
This forum is a goldmine of tandem information, sometimes a bit biased, but certainly stuff you can use.
Most of all: enjoy the ride TWOgether!

When we first got into tandeming, you all were the ones that helped us with our Schwinn Duosport...and the thing is still kicking asphalt. The eccentric needed adjusting and you all knew just what to do (loosen the bottom bolts and turn). But when it comes to the mechanics of the thing, it probably is best to learn on a one seater beater instead.

The beauty of tandeming is that it allows certain individuals to have experiences they otherwise could not have. My friend is handicapped and can't ride by himself, together we have great fellowship on the road and some fun exercise.

For those wanting to save money on a great old skool tandem, the Schwinn Duosport is very solid and can be aquired for nearly a song. My friend said there is absolutely no need to buy Anything better, so he is teaching me contentment.
