I didn't do the ride this year, but a friend who did told me that Lance did the run portion and not the bike portion this year, is that true? He also said the crowds were much smaller this year, compared to years past. I hope that isn't the case! What was your experience like?

Lance did a 5k and then he rode 40 miles. He didn't go out with the century group. The number of riders was definitely down. But, the ride was much safer to me. I saw no accidents this year as opposed to multiple in past years there were no jams at the rest stops or bathrooms. All in all I didn't mind fewer riders. I think the minimum donation of $500 to ride kept it down.

I plan on doing the ride in 07' I think its for a great cause. My dad is a survivor of bone cancer (multiple myloma) and I will be doing it in honor of him.
