Plano Performance Location

I just saw that performance bike is opening a shop in Plano. Anyone know when it is supposed to open, and where it will be located?

No news of a Plano store on the Performance site. Wonder if it would be public record with the city and which department you would call to find out?

The catalogue in the mail showed a location in Plano. This will be interesting to see how RBM and PCF respond. Not sure what I think about it. I talked to them about it this morning. Me thinks Performance will do battle with REI and leave RBM and PCF to sell the good stuff.

One thing is for sure, if they open up in a very visible location and it drives more people to cycling and we continue to hog the roads with more bikes - IM ALL FOR IT. They may create a bigger cycling base that will benefit the established LBS. Who knows. I don't want them driving them out though.

I doubt Plano or RBM have too much to worry about from Performance Bike. Both are well established stores with some decent volume. Will be nice to be have another choice in bikeshops in town though. Got to admit that.

You do realize this means tax on all purchases from Performance and most likely Nashbar.com as well.

Add North Austin to the list. I figure the tax will just offset no shipping cost since it is close to me.

But since they have not had to pay to ship to store, sell tag, etc. online pricing should be less for same item in brick and mortar store shouldn't it?

https://www.plano.gov/Departments/Bui...s+and+Reports/

Every month the city reports the new applicants for Certificates of Occupancy.

This is a great list for people in sales or marketing who are looking fo new businesses

I got a postcard flyer today (forwarded to Nh from Texas), that they are opening a store in Ft Worth. The flyer entitled you to 500 performance points with your first purchase.

What did you want to know?

I shop at the Bicycles Inc regularly. I bought my TriCross from Gordon at the Pantego store. Gordon, Robert, Mike and Stewart (owners son) are great!

There is Tony and Sean and a lady at the Fort Worth Store. All are very knowledgable.

And then there is the Keller Store, which I was at today. I talked to Scott.

You could say I get around.

I got an email about the Fort Worth Performance too. It will be within a few miles of the Fort Worth Bicycles Inc store and Fort Worth Cycling and Fitness. I wonder if they are worried at all?
