What roads can cyclist not use? TX

Are there certain highways or interstates that cyclist can not ride on? I would assume you couldn't (or would want to) jump on I-10 or 290 in the Houston city limits, but what about out of the city limits?

thanks

Any limited access roads (ie: interstates with on/off ramps) are off limits as far as I know across the state. They may be the most direct routes to and from most places these days, but I'd rather wade across the everglades in bare feet than cycle down any interstate shoulder.
