How many bike shops can survive in this area? Not that I mind having a performance bike right down the street

Competition is a wonderful thing. I'll bet Plano Cycling & Fitness isn't too thrilled though.

Uhhhh.... I'd love to hear the reason they applied for that. *scratches head in bewilderment*

The Fort Worth store manager indicated a June opening date for the Plano store. Be sure you're on the mailing lists to get the $20 off $50 coupons and various other grand opening deals.

Just don't forget the stores that have supported everyone for all these years.

I will most likely check Performance out, but RBM will get the majority of my business, as they have for the last 20+ years.

I went over to the store yesterday- there was quite a lot of activity going on- bike assembly and stuff. I asked one of the guys when they'd open- he said it will be Wednesday 4/4

No way they expect to be open this Wed! Wow that was quick. Nice to have them in town, and I have already received a coupon for 500 team points or $50. Sure hate the sales tax, but now we won't pay shipping. I will continue to support RBM and PC&F without a doubt.

IS open today! WENT there! LIKE it! But not a lot different from RBM's Coit store. They DO have the Scattante bikes tho. Good for checking out before buying.

I stopped by the new Performance location in Plano today. It's a pretty nice setup. I did not think their bike prices were all that great. I honestly don't think RBM and Plano Cycling & Fitness have anything to worry about.

I would agree with this comment about 95%. Both these stores definitely fear the sale price performance will throw down. Other than that I probably will rarely buy from Performance. The sale tax thing is a total downer!!

Made my first visit to the store today. Not impressed. Compared to RBM, it is badly outgunned. Prices were okay, esp. the things that were up to 40% off, but selection was limited. Two brands of bar wrap. House brand and Cinelli, and only two colors of Cinelli cork tape.

Performance's apparel is the only area where they seem to set themselves apart, pricewise that is. RBM is still my home.
