I wanted to ride the Collin Classic but I'm in a masters program at UTD and I have classes that weekend.
Where is the Tour de Italia? I couldn't make it for that one either, I'll be out of the country.

They've got rides that are only 20mi or so Santroin. btw, I started riding in late May of 2005, and did my first metric century (64mi) in September of the same year on a 25lb bike that was 3 sizes too big for me. Don't suggest you try the same as far as the wrong size bike, but you could be ready for shorter rides real soon especially if you get a good fitting road bike.

I'm in for the HTH 100. 100k or the full distance- depends on whether I hit the gates before they close.

Craigslist- I've done solo metrics on my 30lb Centurion quite regularly- Bar Ends, 27" wheels and 6 speeds. I paid $75 from Fred Demetrovitch in Duncanville. He sells vintage bikes out of a storage unit, and had enough to choose from that I got an absolutely perfect fit for a lugged steel recreational bike. Cost me about another $50 for new cables and tires, vintage barcons.

I'm in for the long (64?) Collin Classic route if I haven't set fire to my bike as an appeasement to the rain gods by then...

Updated, not going to keep the HHH list updated here as we have a long running list in the HHH thread. Not sure what bike I"ll be rolling on this year for Collin Classic, depends if I get the Serotta together by then.

Well, I've got my friends mtb with road tires on it, but it isn't the most comfortable. Hopefully, I'll have a road bike soon and can get out there. I think that is really the only thing stopping me. Oh...and those big hills.

He had a "$20" sale, a few months back.

I got an old Trek 800 for my 9yr old daughter. While I was there I looked around at his other bikes and he's got some sweet rides, (if you're into older, steel bikes with 27" wheels).

Do you know if he is down there every weekend?

Oh yea, my daughter has been piling the miles onto that bike. Quite a bargain!

You may fit on one of my roadies. I ride somewhere between a 58cm - 61cm depending on brand. My mountain bike was a 21"

You can go to www.wrenchscience.com and use their calculator to get an idea.

What about the Texas Time Trials in Cleburne? It starts 9/27. I will be doing it for the second time. Last year was a total disaster for me. Too many things went wrong for me but this year I will hit the 300 mile mark for sure.

Put me down for the Collin Classic, 37 mi. And the Tour de Italia, 50 mi. I dont see Hot Rocks in Aug, usually tw weeks before Hotter 'n Hell, or Jackrabbit Stampede in Sept. Are the rides listed on Bikes-Stuff just the ones supported by RBM, or are those rides not yet finalized?

The ones on the Bicycle-stuff site are those that the organizers have contacted him with information about usually. There's some links in another (stuck) thread in the texas forum with a more comprehensive list of rides state wide.

Collin Classic 47 or 55 depending on the heat. If it is like last year I'll probably do the 34.

Agreed. Collin Classic last year is the only ride I've ever SAG'ed in on, and I most certainly wasn't the only one. Though if the forecast stays the way it is currently the heat will be the last of the concerns for the day.
