North trail conditions

Just a note on what I think is the "North Trail", the one that goes from the lake to just north of LBJ. From what I saw looking down from the train, the creeks are very swollen and almost coverd the trail near Northwest and Lawther. This should change in the next few days as the rain ends, knock on wood, but you might want to be cautious of mud and puddles coming through blind turns. Also look out for any slithering creatures that might have been displaced my the weather. Indiana Jones isnt the only one who hates snakes

I rode through there this morning, (my commute puts me on the path from Mockingbird to Royal). Yes, there were a few spots with standing water but nothing too severe. Just be sure to slow down in the muddy turns.
Mind you, my bike is fully fendered, (so if I'm laughing, it's just because you have a brown stripe up your back and I don't ).

ran over a snake on one of the bridges approaching Hillcrest last year.
I've seen lots of flattened snakes on the road lately, one of them rather
large with a nice diamond pattern about a block from my house.

and be careful on the water crossing just before lawther, should be
really treacherous about now.

The trail is known as White Rock Creek trail, vs the White Rock Lake trail. Yeah, I try to stay off the trail for at least 3-4 days after heavy rains. I've nearly had my wheels go out from under me once and that was enough.

No fear on my commuter (unless I forgot to mount my fenders). 32c tires have their merits on a cyclocross turned commuter rig...

WRTrail is my wench in wet weather.

Good looking rig Doggus. Yeah, I run 23c's on most of my bikes. The Cuda Mk.I being the exception which as 1 1/8" which equates to about 28c.
