Houston: Sun & Ski Sports Open House - Free Classes/Food/Discounts - Jan 25/26

Sun and Ski Sports at 6100 Westheimer in Houston is holding their second annual "Bike University" Open House with free cycling courses, clinics and hands-on demonstrations Jan. 25, from 5-10 p.m., and Jan. 26, from noon-7 p.m.

I went last year on Friday and enjoyed free chick-fil-a nuggets, beer, cookies and the like. I was given some free gels by one of the reps. I picked up Continental tubes buy 3, get 1 free. They had free bike fittings and free classes every hour on the hour. Well worth one's time, IMHO.

seriously, sounds like an interesting time...
But when someone is giving away free beer at a store, you usually end up buying something you REALLY don't need.

I plan on being there! This is my first year doing the MS150 in April, so I'd really like to see the clinics and all the reps. And of course, now that I know there's free beer - well....

Hey, I might get a chance to try out a bike newer than 1985 Something that may even have brifters.... or atleast index Although honestly, I'm more in the market for a track bike.... and I've only seen one SS/fixed ever at a Sun & Ski.

I got a free bike fitting on a second-hand bike I picked up last fall, ate about a dozen Chick-fil-a nuggets and drank 2 Michelob Ultras AND I won a Powerbar T-shirt as a door prize, but only ended up buying a $2 patch kit (which I really do need), so I think I came out ahead on the deal.

Pretty much all clothing and bike accessories are buy one, get one 50% off. Sale lasts Fri-Sun.

I was there too. My sis won some socks and gave me a pair, my friend won a saddle traded it in for a Texas jersey and gave it to my sister. She also got a free fitting on her Craigslist purchase. Took advantage of that free beer thing too! Made it out of there with a ton of bottles as well. Pretty much the best time I've ever had in a bike store.

Yep, I have to agree! I went on Friday night and got a good bike fitting, ate some Chik-Fil-A, had a couple beers and I won a cool Lone Star cycling jersey from Primal Wear. I NEVER win anything!!!! I even learned a thing or two in the clinics. Definitely a great time....

Thanks Sun and Ski!!!!
