Salado Ride

Is anyone here going to do the Salado Smokin Spokes ride this year? I am thinking about entering and would like some info on the ride from someone who has previously ridden it. I am looking at the 27 mile since a friend of mine has already registered for it.

It appears that Smokin' Spokes is the same day as the Rosedale Ride in Austin, which might account for the lack of response. If I had my choice, I'd go to Salado, but I have a different conflict that day, so I'll have to pass this year.

Hmm...Looks like Salado is not quite as far as Austin...Makes a difference from Dallas...does look like fun. 3/29...I might do this, myself.

Why go south when you have a great ride close by, Ride for Heros, on the same day, which is supposed to be great. I am driving up from the Austin area to do it while visiting my kids..
