I'm only doing 42 tomorrow. I'm in the last 2 days of some antibiotics and have a late, late night Saturday otherwise I'd ride up there do 100k and ride home. I live about 10 miles from the Beltline/342 intersection. I'll be on a blue Gios in a retro Adidas jersey. I'd like to meet some forumites, so say hello! The Lancaster is a good ride. I must have 4 or 5 pair of socks from them. Hey Steve, you're not the famed 'slowfast' from ages past are you? If so, then Howdy- hope to see you tomorrow!

Nope, not slowfast, just slow. But we did have a good time today. Good route, with great markings. Good rest stops, and most of the roads were smooth.

I beg to differ, barlows. I rode with Steve, or should I say Steve waited for me at the various rest stops. Slow, he is not. Dude was eating small hills for lunch the entire ride. Anyway, the ride was great....until the 2nd half.

We did the 100K, and latched on to a couple of pacelines for the first 33 miles, when we stopped at a rest stop. We must have averaged 20-22mph, with some parts upwards of 27mph on the flats.

Then, we turned a corner. The second half of the ride was brutal (for me, anyway). Straight into a nasty headwind the entire way back. My average for that 30 miles must have been around 10-11mph.

There were some nice hills, but nothing real steep. Overall, turned out to be a good ride. I really needed it.

I rode around Garland yesterday afternoon, and it was pretty breezy here- sort of glad I wasn't out on a longer ride!

I had been scheduled to do the ride with my wife, but a friend scheduled a 200k permanent, and his wife ended up taking my spot. So we had two big groups of bents out - 1 group of 6 or so at the lancaster ride, and another 6 of us going from grand prarie through rio vista to cleburne and back for 130 miles. The wind was definitely a factor, but it was the easiest 200k I've done. Guess I'm finally getting stronger.
