Well, I made it out there. My wife needed the SUV today, so I rode down to the ride on my bike, rode the 75k, then rode back- got in 64.5 miles.
It was warm and humid and windy. We were generally headed into the wind the first half and back with it the second half, which is a good arrangement.
On the 75K, I didn't see anything too terrible on the roads. There were one or two roads that had some wallowed out places in the asphalt, but most of that was marked, too. In the first mile of the ride, I saw quite a few people with flats- not sure what went on there. I didn't see anyone wreck or anything. One thing I noticed was that the roads that were most interesting in terms of scenery were the ones that were in worst condition, and vice versa. So if they did any re-routing, it wouldn't necessarily improve the ride.
I was pretty much thoroughly sweat-soaked when I got TO the ride, and stayed that way throughout. At the end of the ride, I did see quite a few fit-looking people that didn't look sweaty at all. I can only conclude that they sat there in the air conditioning while I was out riding.
Some photos below, couple from the start, one from the last rest stop, and me looking sweaty and sunburned at the end (note the sweaty shirt. Note that it is the "Flash" shirt.
