WRL/Valley View Trail in Dallas?

This weekend (Saturday) is the Tour d'Italia, so what about around the 4th? Meet somewhere at WRL, do a lap, hit the DART rail and goof around downtown? Maybe head north to Greater Downtown Plano for buffalo burgers and coffee?

You could ride from WRL to downtown as well. Dart's fine, but get 20 people with bikes and it may not work so well....

Yeah, there's a fairly safe route from WRL to Downtown, too, most of which is along Swiss Ave.

I need to at least drive a route from WRL to downtown. The Hooters there is really popular among MTBrs. As for speed, I'm really happy strolling along. I don't like getting up speed unless there are NO cars around.

Here is a route that the wife and I use to get from our apartment (near downtown on Swiss) to WRL. It's pretty safe since most of it is on quiet neighborhood streets. A good portion of it is on Swiss which is very scenic--nice older houses with lots of trees/shade. From here you could just continue down Swiss to Texas, make a right (north) on Texas and follow that to Ross. Ross into downtown.
