DFW Group Powdercoating

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of powdercoaters in the Plano area. Could you recommend any places?

Thanks

I know a good place to find out. Your local Harley Davidson dealer or any custom motorcycle or hot rod shop. Why do I recommend a Harley dealer and the like? Because they do a lot of powder coating in the way of customizing motorcycles and cars. In fact the work is usually contracted out to a local powdercoater. The nearest HD shop to you (Plano) is Harley Davidson of Dallas in Allen. (Click the link below) These guys should recommend a good one. Good Luck.

This is cool news. Heck, I can't even buy the material to do my own spray for that, mush less the time involved in prep.

I'm up for it if we can agree on a color. I'm a pretty basic kind of guy though.

My original thoughts were either White (prefered) or Navy Blue, but a good deal has very persuasive powers...........

The discount would probably be significant as all the frames would be in the same batch and there is really a fixed cost for a batch.

OK, so I will give these guys a call and use the number of frame sets that have replied back as being up for this and get a general price quote after we answer just one question.

Now for the fun part.......What color?

Anyone else with color votes? I was leaning towards white as well, but am still open to other colors for $$$ sake.

Having overcome the stripped crank arm, I'm down to a bare frame set and ready to go.

So far we have :

motoko (Orange, but White could work)
thehappyrobot (White)
Greybeard
Rammer
jk80world (Darker Blue or Red)
txvintage (White, but open to new experiences)

Six frames should be a large enough batch to work for us I would think, just the color issue and when remains.

Sorry guys for the slow reply. I have been working here in Houston the past few weeks. No time for bikes.

I would ideally like an orange, but if that wasn't an option, white would be cool.

Ya know, I was thinking about orange, sort of an old school original Team Motobecane look.

I think we may be alone in this one, lol.

Someone mentioned in a post recently about a place in Mesquite that will powdercoat bicycles.

EDIT: http://www.endurocoatings.com/ I think this is the place

Sorry for the late reply. I was out of the country.

I was thinking white too but I could go for red or orange as well.

could a mod possibly change the title of this thread to DFW group powdercoating?

I just called, and for 6 frames, the guy can do it for 60 a frame.

It's looking like white is the dominate common choice.

Another issue is all of us getting the frame sets there at the same time. It's taken a long time to get this far.........

$60/frameset is still $60. Do they do the prep? I mean stripping and priming?
