Melon Patch Tour Hills vs. Goatneck Ride Hills

Does anyone have an opinion of the hills in the Melon Patch Tour in DeLeon, TX vs. the hills at the Goatneck in Cleburne? I plan to do the Melon Patch in a couple of weeks. I just did the Goatneck yesterday and the hills nearly kicked my a**!

Would love the feedback!

Oh and by the way, I've been riding seriously since March of this year....so please be gentle!

I have a Specialized Sequoia and have plans to do the Hotter than Hell late next month. I had planned to do the 100 miler but am seriously reconsidering given yesterday's ride and doing the 100k instead!

Thanks

I don't normally use them, but there are some ride-mapping sites or software that should let you compare elevations.

Did you do the 100k at Goatneck? If you did, then I would guess you can handle the Century at HHH. Just keep doing a long ride every weekend before then and you will probably be ready. On the HHH route, the Century and 100k route split about mile 35 if I recall correctly. If you need to there is a bailout at mile 65 or so (Hells Gate) that will make it 75 or 80 miles. The HHH route is very flat for the first 65, then there are some rollers, but nothing like the Glenn Rose area. I think the biggest climb is coming back into town on the freeway overpass.
