Lancaster Country Ride Sat, April 11, 2009

It's short notice but it looks like another good ride coming up. This one is just as close to home. I had sent a co-worker a link to the Tour Dallas ride. He saw the great pics that StephenH took and got motivated to take part in a ride.
There's 23, 42 and 63 mile rides with staggered start times for safety.
Registration is this week at various bike shops. We'll do the 23 mile ride and I'll bring the same bike I brought for the Tour Dallas, my Puch Meteor Luxe. She's become such a ride hog!

PS: DARN!! I won't be able to make it. I've got more pressing matters. But the link is there just incase someone is interested in last minute rides.

I look forward to this year's ride too. I can't say how good a ride it was because I was so focused on finishing! Lancaster was my first 62 mile ride and I was not physically (or mentally for that matter) ready for it. The distance and the wind kicked my butt. I finished it though.

I can't wait to see how well I do this year. See you there!

Lancaster is always good. My first ride of the year. Weather forecast looks ok. We will have to just get used to the wind.

I haven't made firm plans, but was sort of intending to ride the following:
Richardson Wild Ride, May 16. Last year, I rode The Thing on the 16 mile route. But then I found out the longer routes go over the Lake Lavon dam, so I'm planning to ride there this year. I think it's 13 miles to the ride, so if I get energetic, I may ride to it as well.

June 6- Mesquite Rodeo Ride- I rode to the ride last year, rode the 48 mile ride, and rode home to make a metric century out of it.

July 18- Tour de Paris

August 29- Hotter'n'Hell 100, assuming it's not hotter'n'hell up there. I'll ride when it's hot, but don't plan to go have a heatstroke, either.

Tour d'Italia, June 20th - great rest stops, one features an Elvis. 20 miles ride to Italy, TX, 62 mile metric, 20 mile ride home = century!
