Anyone else interested in doing a Texas Bike Forums team for the Livestrong Challenge?? We could also all recruit any of our riding buddies that don't post to join the team as well??? Just gauging interest here. I think that I am going to do this as an individual anyway but thought it might be neat to do on this forum and get us some jerseys etc. made for the event?? Maybe Love2Pedal would sponsor us or something and get us something cool printed up plus maybe some other folks that we all know?? Just an idea! Anyone interested let me know and I will request the info etc.
Alright I got one yes so I went ahead and started the team hopefully we can get some more people involved. I am attaching the Team page link. Like I said it is definately open to anyone who wants to join and hopefully we can raise some money for a great cause!
Daniel glad to have you on the team!! Looking forward to a great ride this year and hopefully our funds raised will make a difference! Maybe we could get together for a ride sometime. I would definately make a roadie down to Austin for a ride if you would like to be a tour guide for a guy from DFW!
I've been thinking about doing this as well. Might be nice to have someone to ride with. What distance are you guys riding? 90/65? I'm a flatlander (Beaumont)so I'm thinking 90 in the hills may be a bit of a challenge for me.
90 here. The profile doesn't look too terribly hilly. Just some short ones here and there.
I read a quote somewhere from LA that said that he loved the 90 mile route because of the hills. This is the area where he used to train regularly...
If you are close enough to do so, go scope the course out beforehand.
Well, I was going off the total ascent which is only 2700 ft. Over 90 miles that isn't too terrible. My normal route is about 2500 ft in 35 miles, so that's why I'm saying it's not too hilly. But that's just me.
Hey guys! I was thinking of making a trip down to Austin maybe the last couple weekends of the month... What works to ride with you Mr. Linux? Any weekend better than another?? Hope everyone's training is going well!
As far as I know, every weekend is free for me. I pretty much ride every weekend so any company is more than welcome. I've been joining the ACA Mozart's to Mansfield ride on Saturday's when they have it (usually every other week or so) which is a fairly tough 50 mile ride. But I'm up for just about anything. Let me know what works for you.
