2009 Peach Pedal in Weatherford
Less than 10 days to go...any BF'ers registered, ready for the heat?
Go to
It looks like the same route as 2008. I'm planning on doing the metric cent...I mean, the 62-miler.

our group is going (5 guys).. first time doing this ride. how was it last year? hills, wind?
i thought i was prepared for shiner this year, but with 20+mph wind on the last half, it was severely brutal. hoping the wind isn't so bad on this one, but then again its only 60 miles..

There's a group of about 4 or 5 of us planning on it...60 miles. Hear they used to have a century route?

DW and I are registered and attending.
The only thing that scares me is that I have been off the bike (except for each Saturday) for two weeks+, and will probably not be able to ride again until that day.

Got my packet. I hear 1600+ have pre-registered on-line. Pretty decent showing.

that was a fun ride, minus the 3+ mile detour from missing the correct road to turn down... i wish they had posted bigger signs to see the correct route, but overall it was a fun ride. seems that all the shorter riders got all the burritos at the end though

I thought it was a good ride. The last 20 miles or so (of the 100K) were hot and uphill. Overall, good with free Rosa's at the end. What a treat!

I thought that the course was pretty well marked, except for a couple of signs that were turned by the wind.

Wish I'd known you were going. I had all my poop in a group to go out there, but it lost the coin toss when the alarm went off. I figured I could do a solo metric from my house.

My girlfriend's co-worker did this ride and said there were a lot of people falling-out with the heat and the hills. She said that there was a lot of calls for SAG support and an ambulance was running up and down the route to treat people with heat exhaustion.
