It is good to see a positive post on the subject of a motorist interacting with a cyclist. Most of my interactions are positive or neutral, when I am cycling. Oddly enough, it seems I am cut off and otherwise bullied more, per mile, when in my Honda Civic than when cycling.
One time, when I was in my Jeep, I saw a cyclist walking in the rain with his bike, barefoot, holding his road shoes, as they were worthless for walking on pavement. I stopped, to let him ride in my Jeep, and his bike ride on the rear rack. He had flatted three times on a group ride, and did not have a third patch. I made a new friend. (BTW, nobody seems to want to cut-off or bully me while I am driving my Jeep.) I think I had tools with me, though perhaps not a spare tube, but he had his tool kit with him, anyway, and certainly knew how to use them, as he was a bicycle mechanic. He had tubes in his truck, as I recall, so I took him there.
Have Colt, will travel...
