Debating if I want to head out there. If I do it'll be the metric distance, 17-17.5mph avg or so (may consider a bit slower if we can get a group organized).

I'll be doing the 41 miler with my son. I've heard the course can be a bit hilly on the metric. Is that true?

I'm considering it, but not definite yet. May need to work instead. I'd be riding slower than that, regardless.

I'm driving a wheel truck in the race.
Brit - the only hills worth mentioning are North of the town of Leonard on Hwy 896 - this road is used by the 65 and 84 mile routes.

The biggest hills are north of Leonard, however the last 10-12 miles has what I recall being and endless series of gentle rolling hills that has more "up" than "down" to them. If you don't leave a little in the tank for these, they'll wear you down.

I don't see an 84-mile route on the website, am I missing something?

Some of the races do 83 miles, but I think the rally offers up to the metric-century option. If you compare the tour map to the race map, you'll see green-route goes North from Wolfe City, but the tour map only shows the route going South from there.

Not sure yet if I'm doing the 41 or 60something.
Brit, PM me if you want. I'd team up with you and your son. Rain and work have kept me off the bike for a week so I won't be going fast.

MG, check you PM.
We have not been putting in many miles. I think I rode 3 days of the last 7, my son only 2. That's why we're doing the 41.
Hope to see more people from BF there.
