Talking $24,999 for a bike, INSANE!

https://cgi.ebay.com/10-POUND-Custom-...d=p3286.c0.m14

I'm afraid I'd have to give the sport up for good if I had to pay this.

Shocking...and just absurd. I mean you might as well go to the bike shop and buy the highest priced cervelo instead.

You know, he mentions the fork is tuned. I know what a tuning fork is, but with respect to bikes, does that make any sense at all? Also, for a modern road bike, why in the world do you need a long cage RD?

For that price you would have thought they'd throw in shipping costs at $100.00. CRAZY!!!

Just in case shipping was a deal breaker for you it does mention at the end of the add that shipping is free is you pay the BIN price.

No disrespect to Fuji, but I can think of any number of more worthy framesets to undertake this little experiment on.

they don't even specify which Campy components are on it. Why would you do that with a Fuji frame? Aren't there more worthy (ahem, Dogma) CF frames out there to do this to?

Unfair advantage.
It's only light cause it's a 47 cm.

Although.... that WOULD work for me

Can you even get Record or Chorus in long cage? A 25K bike with Mirage would be too funny.

They declined the offer.

Wheel Cost Fail: https://www.racycles.com/wheels/wheel...-wheelset.aspx

I like my Fuji Team Issue WCS, and I've heard very good things about the SL-1. But this is just silly. Even with those wheels, and even if they are some ultra-high-spec version of the ones I linked above (selling on that website for sub-5 grand), that bike is worth maybe half of what they are asking at most.

The seller is a real class act.

I sent him this message:
Dear canalside_cyclery,

Honestly, you expect to get full price with some of the items being used? Also, you would think that If I were paying anywhere near that price, you would throw in the shipping for free.
And...you could have used a much better frameset than a Fuji. Nothing against Fuji, but when you think of Fuji, you do not think top of the line.

- griffin2020
He responded:

Dear Jerk off,
Do you honestly think your email will make me rethink my price? It's jerk off's like you who really bother me because you feel that they need to eamil me just to speak your mind. If I'm asking to much....Who cares! Also, since your such a mister know it all....what better light weight frame should I use....(wait to bother emailing me back) Scott makes one lighter but, it doesn't compare to Fuji. The Fuji is worth a few extra grams. Now, the asking price is $25k, retail would be $30k you dumb ass. Throw in shipping? Why because you think you deserve it? Kiss my white arse! What a dink!

Just because someone asks for a certain price does not mean they will ever get it.

The price of the wheelset and brakes shock me the most and it sounds like you get some stellar customer service to boot.

This would have been a humorous offering on ebay, if the guy hadn't turned out to be such a tool.

And griffin, quit being such a know it all.

$15,000 wheels certainly drives the price up. Could have at least been kitted with super record. The most expensive custom bike build I could come up with at Wrench Science was a Colnago / Super Record with all the Zipp I could find. Sure it weighed a ton at around 15 pounds but it only cost around $9,000. doubt the 2,000 gram savings is worth a further 15 grand. Heck as a backup buy half the bikes off the roof of a protour team car with your savings.

I wonder if they bought the wheel replacment policy on the LEV's.
