That's odd... Austin vs. DFW bike sales

Looking for a used roubaix or Tarmac, I hit up CL to do a quick search and found maybe 12-15 bikes fitting that description, but few in my size and even fewer within my budget. Well, I have a SIL that lives in Austin and it's always fun to visit, so I hit up the Austin CL ads and was surprised to find even fewer tarmacs and roubaixs.

What gives? I thought for sure Austin would be a bigger cycling town and therefore have more listings for used bikes. Maybe specialized is a bit too vanilla for Austin?

Anyhow, if you happen to know of a good deal on a 58 cm roubaix or Tarmac width 105 or Ultegra, let me know.

Hmmm, that's a nice bike, but a bit off of a ways from where I was looking. It is very tempting, though.

A few questtions: do you have the stock seat anywhere? About how many miles are on it? Have you replaced anything (chain, tires, cables)? Also, I'm guessing that's an 07 elite triple, but the crankset appears to be different from this one:

https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...jsp?spid=22192

did you change out the original crankset for any reason?

After a quick search, I now see that the picture on the specialized website was inccorrect. They pictured it with what looks like a 105 crank, but they list the FSA in the specs, so scratch that question.

I have put new wheels and tires on it. The wheels a Open Pro 32 front and rear. I didn't like the seat so I sold it and put the Brooks Swift on it, much better. I changed the bar tape out to black, but that's no big thing. It does have all 105 component's. The bike has around 5000 miles on it, but it still looks like it's new. The cables and chain have just been changed. The reason I'm selling it is to move up. It is a very comfortable bike. I'm 69 years old so I don't race and the bike was bought for nice long easy rides.

Creakyness, I've been all over eBay as well. Lots of nice deals on 56 cm frames, very few for 58 and they usually end up bidding past my budget.

George, look out for a pm.

Dallas has a bigger population, that is why they have more bikes on craigslist I bet.

Oh and we don't get rid of bikes, we just keep adding to our collections. :-)
