Help! Tues/Thrs daytime rides for White Rock Lake
I have 2 kids in school until 3 Tuesdays and Thursdays and use those days to go riding. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't enjoy riding alone sometimes. Okay a lot of times. The cyclists I know all have jobs (damn them) and the other stay at home mommies don't ride.
I'm so desperate for people to ride with that while driving home I spotted a group of Freds coming up I30 today. I exited St Francis, waited for them, flagged them down and gave them my email address. Clearly not the most rational thing I've ever done but something about 4 middle aged average guys on bikes didn't seem that threatening. On the flip side, they probably left thinking, "what was up with that crazy lady?" and won't email me next week.
I figure since I'm approaching random strangers, I might as well check on BF to see if anybody in the Dallas area who rides close to my pace has time to log some miles during the day on Tues and Thrs. I try to do 50 - 70 miles from WRL to Sunnyvale/Segoville, avg. pace at end of ride anywhere from 18 to 16 (thanks, wind.) I am not very patient with slower riders but not looking for a fast paced sufferfest. Especially by the time Thursday rolls around.
PM me.

In the past, I've seen threads here on Tour Dallas, and there were maybe 10 people responding on here versus maybe 3,000 people at the ride, so you hit a fairly low percentage of riders. You might also try contacting some of the local bike shops to see about arranging rides, and possibly bike clubs as well- the one in Fort Worth especially seems fairly active and might have people available during the day.
If you do have any riding time on weekends, you might check into Lone Star Randonneurs as well; it sounds like you'd fit right in.
(I just checked FWBA and they do have some Tuesday and Thursday daytime rides, speed and distance might not be a good match- but check into it. https://www.fwbaclub.org/#)

Note that some of the rides are in Arlington, they're not all in FW. There is also a Dallas cycling club, but I don't see daytime rides on their calendar. https://www.greaterdallasbicyclists.c...ndar/month.php
