Houston people, a little help please!
Hey all,
I'm coming to Houston for work next week and would like to rent a road bike and ride a couple of times. I'll be staying by the George Brown Convention Center so proximity to there would be a priority. Any shops near there that rent road bikes?
Second question would be, where should we ride? We won't have a car, so rides that start in that area would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

TC Jester is a good ride. To get there from downtown, work your way to Main St. where it passes under I-10. You'll see a new paved path heading off to the north, follow it past the Target & into the Heights. The path ends at Shepherd & here you'll have to figure out your preference to get to 11th St & TC Jester. I like to continue on the "path" where it's unpaved, then follow the bayou north until TC Jester. Not a good idea for a road bike.
Take the TC Jester path all the way north. On the way back, continue on TC Jester over the bridge, cross I-10 & go through neighborhoods to find the Westcott/Washington/Arnot traffic circle. Take Arnot into Memorial Park & ride around there as much as you want. The south side of Memorial is better for riders because there's a road bike training loop. Follow the bright colors, you'll find it.
Head back home on Memorial Eastbound. The path gives way to a sidewalk for a while, but at Shepherd you get another trail that will take you into downtown again.
