DFW Meet & Greet - Spring 2012
It's been too long so I'm kicking off the idea to hold another BF's meet & greet some time in the next few weeks. I recall BJ's Restaurant being a good option as they usually have a separate room for large groups, a wide range of food options, and of course some darned good beers on tap as well. The Lewisville location is about the best we could do for a centrally located option to draw a few of the FTW crowd. Open to other ideas as well.
As far as days, Saturday is probably the best for most people, however it's also the most crowded. I'm open to Friday evening as well, or Sunday too. Probably smaller crowds those nights. Let's hear some ideas and get something set by the end of the week at the latest.

My weekends have been fairly hectic of late, so I'd be iffy regardless of when or where. That said, Friday night would be the best for me.

Irving would be more central, but I don't know of a good restaurant in that area. Arlington may be a bit far for some of us northern folks to trek. Again, open to resturant ideas if anyone knows of somewhere that could easily handle a good sized group in Irving.

It seems to me that the logical place to meet would be the Dallas Bicycle Cafe on White Rock Lake, or something off the Trinity Trails in Ft. Worth.
That way we can ride to the meeting spot. Why would we want to drive to a meeting of bicycle enthusiasts?
That would be like a gun club meeting at an elementary school,
or a dive club meeting in a parking lot,
or an arson club meeting in the burn ward...

I might get out to the Bicycle Cafe. For the people from out west, one could take the TRE to Dallas, the light rail out to WRL, then ride over to the cafe. Anything in the West End of Dallas would be similarly feasible for those using the TRE.

What about scheduling a group ride from FW to Dallas, joining up with the mid cities folks along the way? It's pretty much a straight shot that parallels I-30, about 34 miles from downtown to downtown. A lot of folks did that for Superbowl Sunday, meeting in the Dallas West end. Here's the route from the Superbowl ride in February
