Bike Buddy connects people who are interested in trying bicycle commuting......

http://bike-buddy.open-austin.org

About Bike Buddy
Bike Buddy connects people who are interested in trying bicycle commuting with experienced bicycle commuters who want to help.

There are some great tools available to connect current commuters of varying types and transportation options. Bike Buddy is the first to exclusively match cyclists solely based on their experience level.

Open Austin is a local, volunteer advocacy group. We advocate for open government, open data, and civic technology. Bike Buddy was created by our volunteer hackers, and presented as a public service.

I posted this in commuting because it is an open sourced code project, volunteer/community based.
Thought that perhaps others might be interested in morphing the program/code to work in their communities....
That's all.

YES! I would love to do this in DFW! The dorba.org website would be perfect for this, and I will try to get our developer in contact with Open Austin to get the source code...

can they call me at 6:30 to make sure I'm up? My biggest barrier to bike commuting is not getting up early enough, ergo the car becoming a better option for making it on time.
