I am building up my touring frame and want to use my Sun Tour XC drivetrain. All was going well, until I pulled the long-cage rear derailluer off the "donor" bike...only to find the nut that secures the cage and top idler wheel to the body has disaperared. Clearly, I can't move the project forword until this is resolved. See the photo for reference...if anyone has a contact or knows where I can find a replacement...it would be greatly appreciated.

Dennis,
This is often an easy problem to fix, if it is just the bolt that goes through the jockey wheel and derailleur cage... a lot of the time you can take apart a similar old derailleur and replace the nut/bolt. After looking at a few images of that specific derailleur though... it could be more complicated. Some of that model look like they could be a difficult fix. Your attachment isn't working, can you try and post the image again?

^I remember when you outbid me for that bike on eBay! As I recall, you got quite the deal on it. It looks quite a bit different now, but all improvements for sure. Quite a sharp bike.

Have:

52cm Surly Long Haul Trucker Frame. I bought it complete in 2009. Over the last year after playing with the fit the entire time, I have come to sadly decide that the frame is too big for me. Its the tan "truccochino" color and has minimal wear for its age which is not much.

Want:
50cm Long Haul Trucker Frame. I don't care what color but it would be nice if it was in similar condition to mine. If you have a complete with similar components then we could also potentially swap the whole thing rather than just frame. I would prefer just frame though.

I am really sad to have to do this because I spent a lot of time researching the internet to find what size would be best. OH well, lesson learned. I hope I can find someone to trade who has also taken good care of their bike.

I am also willing to just sell the frame outright so I can replace the it with a new 50cm myself. Not sure what the going rate for a one year old LHT Frame is these days but send me a reasonable offer and we can talk.

PM me or email me for pictures of the bike and we can work out the logistics.
