padded undies

I was wondering if anybody had a favourite brand of padded shorts to wear under your touring clothes. I have never worn cycling shorts and October in Ontario might not be shorts weather anyway.

Tia.

Now that touring season is almost here, I simply wear something over my regular summer padded shorts.

I wear Nishiki Mesh Liners. The are very lightweight (4.9 ounces), breathable, and fast-drying.

I've used these, and regular shorts as well. These work fine.

I like Rapha padded underwear. They feel fantastic. The drawbacks are the cost and they aren't very hard wearing.

I wear Canari padded liners under my walking shorts. I don't have anything to compare them too, as this is is the only pair I've tried. They do the job but there is that bit of "diaper" feel when you first put them on.

2 in 1, I call them mountain bike shorts. Padded shorts, loose fitting shorts over them.

I like my Gore Bike Wear shorts. I think they are contest shorts but I could be wrong.

I will say that bibs are more comfortable and do keep things in place better. I have two different pairs and they are quite comfortable though one pair is a winter tight and the other is more of a light padding which is fine for most of my commuting and road riding and other shorter trips but might not be my top choice for long distance touring. I do plan on getting some Gore bibs when I get money all situated with bikes I am building or fixing up.
