Shimano Alivo CS-HG300 13-34t cassette 9 speed
I found the Shimano Alivo CS-HG300 13-34t cassette 9 speed msrp $38.99
and at Harriscyclery(dot)net Harris custom cyclotouriste 13-34t 9 speed cassette $129.00
and I think I would pay $38.99 over $129.00 for a 13-34t 9 speed cassette
I am using 24-32-42t Deore crankset and I maybe getting a 22t granny gear. and I am using Sram PG-970 11-34t 9 speed Cassette
and I am using 8 cogs on my 9 speed cassette 13-34t on Sram PG-970 11-34t 9 speed cassette 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-34t

Ok. I think most would spend $40 over $130 if the quality is equal. Do you not like the jumps in your current SRAM?...not sure why you would get a different cassette if the SRAM works.
And why use only 8 of the 9 cogs on your SRAM?

If you're looking for value you should go 8-speed --> SRAM PG-830 = $16.99[h=1][/h]

Where did you find it?
Given that you do not use your current 11T; swapping to the 13-34 gives you the benefit of closer ratios in the critical mid-range. But is that where you ride?
Regarding durability vs Harris's custom - no difference. Harris takes standard cassettes apart and re-assembles - labour intensive thus high cost. You can do the same to create any combination you want. Niagara and others stock Miche cogs. Miche 1st position cogs are available in 11 to 15 teeth, which in combination of inexpensive Shimano cassettes will allow you to build an incredible variety of custom 8 or 9 speed cassettes.
For one of my commuters an 8 speed 14-32 is what fit the bill: 14T Miche 1st position for Shimano 8/9 speed, Shimano 13-26 minus the 13T and 14T cogs, and a inexpensive 32T from a Shimano 11-32.

i make it a policy to buy the least expensive compatible cassette that i can find that is manufactured by shimano, and has the spread of gearing i prefer.
for the most part, i couldn't care less about the number of teeth on the smallest cog.

Another vote for the 12-36 nine speed cassette. Have it on a 1x9 commuter and a trek 520. Just check to make sure the RD can handle the range.

And Shimano M592 for those of use with a more limited budget, and running 9 speed or less MTB or 10 speed or less Road shifters.
