I sorta inherited a cheaper Eureka 3-person 3-season tent, olive drab color. Took it on a mountain tour & while it seemed fairly heavy I later learned that despite the low price the <6 lb/2.7 kg weight was actually less than some smaller & more expensive tents. 1-person tent saves about 1 lb/.5 kg vs 2-person but more cramped. 1 person in 3-person tent gives lots of room for stuff, drying clothes, even cooking.
I agree there should be more tents w/stealth coloring.

I just got a REI Dash 2 on clearance for $199. A bit more than I was planning to spend, but it got good reviews and a 2.5 lbs tent was just too tempting.

It seems that you already have several nice shelters what would serve you well. What are you looking for?
Perfection??? It doesn't exist. Most of the time "good enough" is as good as it gets.

Campmor
Fine, good and well.......so long as the Campmor special is still available a month from now when the check hits. I hope that the price discount hangs around for you.

And this is what I gave up cycle touring when I returned to the US. I enjoyed it whenI lived in PR China; but one has to give up some freedoms to live here in the US.
You should probably review the trespassing laws of the various states you want to travel in. They aren't that clear cut. In California, for example, it is unlawful to enter enclosed or cultivated land without permission. I suspect that "cultivated" land could be open to interpretation. A forest grown for timber could be considered "cultivated".
And while California has requirements for notification of unenclosed or uncultivated land, some states like Colorado do not. "Trespassing occurs when someone 'knowingly and unlawfully enters or remains' in or on a property in which they don’t have authorization or license to do so. There is no specific language concerning “posted” signs or proper notice." Further, in Colorado, trespassing can lead to a suspension of hunting and fishing privileges for several years. I know of some fishermen who have lost the privilege to fish because they unknowingly stepped across a boundary.
I also know ranchers who don't take kindly to trespassing. The local sheriff may give you a visit in the middle of the night and, at best, you'll have to pack up camp and move in the middle of the night. At worst, you might be hauled to the local jail to establish your identity and/or appear before a judge...all while your bicycle and other equipment remains at your illegal camp. And, considering that you trespassed initially, how likely is the landowner to allow you back on their property to retrieve your stuff?
Finally, I wouldn't take advice on US state trespass laws from someone in Sweden or any other nation, for that matter. The land use laws for other nations are very different.
