Older BOB Yak trailer with no tabs for the little wire locks
I picked one up today and it is an older model.
It didnt have the skewer and the nuts that were on it appear to be some old style. The saftey logs or pins on the newer models have tabs to hold them in place and little rubber holders so you dont lose them. This one only has cotter pins and see like they might fall out or get lost easy. I could probably cut up a couple of rubber bands and tie around the cotter and the frame.
Not sure when the cotter system was phased out for this newer design or how well this design works.
I want to get a QR skewer for it and they are not cheap. $26. IM going to try and see if anyone has a used one they are not using any longer.

P.S. $26 is not a lot of money. If you put $0.50 in change in a coffee can each day you will have enough for skewer in short order. Or I will sell you my extra one for $27 plus shipping and handling.

I have no idea if that's what you need. I don't use BoB trailers and can't picture the issue you're talking about. BUT, if I can help, PM me.

thanks for the offer. They are a special one. This trailer is missing it. It has the nuts for the solid axle but they are an older style with no flats. They are not like the modern BOB nuts that have flats on them. It doesnt much matter considering the rig i want to put this on has QR wheels. I will probably just order one eventually. The clips are the older style as well. THey are just cotters....not the fancy bent paper clip thing they have now. THe BOB itself doesnt have the little nubs that those style clips would fit. I will try and grab a picture. That would probably help.
The trailer itself is in great shape. I have never ridden with them. From what i am reading, most people love them or hate them. I Guess i will find out. I just think it is a slick idea and i love how low it is.

i had two bob's, old style. one with the standard
skewer, and one with bolt on nutz. both used
plain vanilla cotter pins.
20K miles, some rough gravel and dirt, never lost
a pin. no worries, they're designed not to fall
out. you'll notice how much effort is needed to
pull them out.
always carried a couple spares just in case.
don't need the fancy-pants solution looking for
a problem newfangled bob pins for the old
trailers. ace hardware got em.
about that bob.
wheel is kinda carpy, not great seals. better
check the bearings and grease.
when you detach the trailer, the weight rests on
the fork.....getting dirt in the cotter pin holes.
a short length of pvc zippytied under the front
of the cargo section will fix that.
on longer tours, zippytie a trailer tire under the
basket. the only spares in that size normally
carried by wally-worlds are bmx tractor tires.
