Bike fitting and bike handles

I have read some thing on the Interwebs, and pretty much i have figured out in terms of math and methods, but i have seen a lot of those curved handlebars, which got me wondering, should i change my straight normal handlebar to a weird curved one? also, does those have a benefit? i was unable to find any "real" comparison on those

Try 1st hand ... bring your bike into a Bike shop... they may have a number of alternative handlebars,

you can hold them in your hands , held over the bike, in a position like If Mounted ,
and have more of an Idea thru the experience.

If you are speaking of "trekking" bars, the odd figure 8-ish ones, they are like drops in that they offer a variety of hand positions that straight bars do not.

If, when riding your current straight bars, you find yourself wishing you had alternate hand positions, trekking bars might be for you. I would have liked to try them on my last tour on my straight-bar Cimarron.
