Portland OR to Point Arena CA
I'm planning a trip down the coast from portland to point arena in mid september. About how many miles should I expect to cover each day? The entire distance? I have driven most of it in a car, but how bike-friendly is it? The camping looks good, what parks should i stay at? Any info is welcome, I know this is a popular route so there must be a bunch of you with experience on this tour.

The riding is great North to South, the traffic is extremely good (for a two lane) and though there are sections that don't have a lot of shoulder the coastal route is scenic and has enough curves to keep most motorists slow and paying attention. Camping is plentiful, i rode it off season and most of the state campgrounds were both closed and still in use by stealth camping bikers, there are also a lot of pay campgrounds and i got showers most nights. Only warning is to be prepared as there are very very few bike shopps on this route.
It's worthwhile to either get the Northern California Touring map or the Adventure Cycling Pacific coast tour maps.
fun fun fun.
