Any Aluminum Tourers besides Cannondale?
Don't ask me why, but I like Aluminum. I want a touring bike, and other than Cannondale and the now-discontinued Giant OCR Touring, I cannot think of any manufacturers currently making an Aluminum touring bike. Nashbar makes an Al touring frame, but I'm not a builder, so that doesn't count.
Am I missing something? There's Al Cyclocross bikes, but these don't usually have the eyelets for front racks, long chainstays, etc....
Any help would be appreciated.
Dan

The discontinued Klein Navigator is made of AL. Chain Reaction still has a frameset in 52 cm:

This is just a cursiosity, really, since the these bikes are not practically available to you in Florida, but I was surprised to find a local manufacturer here in Finland that makes a touring bike very similar to Cannondale T800. See

The bike is available with a butterfly handlebar, too ('Touring Men' as opposed to 'Touring Tiagra').
I wanted a steel bike for myself and had to order it abroad...

I can't remember if the Jamis is Alu or not, so maybe not. However, REI has one of the least expensive Alu tourers available. Why not the Cannondale? Just curious.

Dan,
I just bought the new Specialized 2006 cyclo-cross and touring road bike. It is aluminum w/ some very nice components. I forget the model name but you'll find it on their web site. It is a new bike for them and sells for around $1700.00. It is not a dedicated tourer like a t2000 but is lighter and a little quicker. It has a composite double which I am having swapped out for a triple - the gearing will be super. Interested in what you think.
