Montreal LBS
OK, so if I detrain in Montreal, and finish my trip home to TO by bike, where can I extremely quickly access a bike shop that will for sure have QUALITY 700x32 tires? My rear tire is shredded, and to go from Montreal to Toronto, I might as well replace the pair. I don't want to loose a day in Montreal, and have to stay in the city, just searching for tires. Any suggestions? I do have a tire on the bike I can limp around on, but I want to be limping in the TO direction.

I have heard good things about mec. They have cheap prices.
Here is their selection of tires:
https://www.mec.ca/Products/product_l...=1128486594588
There is a mec store in Montreal.

I'm pretty sure I still have my old 32c Specialized Nimbus EX (not armadillos) I used as a front tire. It's old but in good shape, and free. I should have the same tire in 28c if you want to put that one in front and use your front in the rear. I live on route verte N°5. It's the path following the St-Lawrence river. I'm near Mercier bridge.
If you want new tires, I got them from Rossi, about 3km west from my place. They're on the bike path also, around 25th ave in Lachine. They usually have them in 28c, 32c, and 38c. I've had good luck with these tires, though they wear quickly. At about 5000km, I had patches without rubber on the rear tire. 20$ each. I've never tried the more popular kinds like Marathons or Continental.
How's your trip?

MEC is real good, but apparently real north of Montreal, central, which is where I am guessing the station is.
Mercier Bridge, that brings back memories. I crossed the Mercier bridge on my way through town several weeks ago. It isn't a bridge that richly rewards the impresion that one should cross it on a bike!
Thanks! The offer of a free tire is really kind. My only problem is that I don't make very firm plans, and probably won't decide what I will do until I get to Montreal, and actually see some weather. I am coming into town on the 9th, craptastic! a Sunday, and the weather is supposed to tank that weekend. Gee Sunday, that is going to limit some options. I already have the Ticket through to TO, so it is going to be a spur of the moment kind of thing if I get off in Montreal.
