Bike Florida 2005
What's the latest word on Bike Florida? What experiences did anyone here have last year? I might like to try the 2005 trip, if registration is still open. Thanks for any information. --Roy Zipris

Also consider Bike Safari. It's in Fl usually just after Bike Florida. Week long, loop tours out of 2 locations. GREAT food. https://www.floridafreewheelers.com/events.html#april

Roy,
I think that this year's tour is already over. See the url below for the 2006 version.

I was on Bike Florida this year and had a wonderful time. It was so long ago, but I think I had to wear arm/leg warmers a couple of mornings. The mileage per day is low which is nice for a northerner like myself for the early spring. It was a typical organized week-long bike tour. Most of the roads were great, perhaps about 20 miles were on rough pavement. We purchased the meal plan for breakfast. I chose this ride as an easy alternative to cycling with my husband rather than Texas Hell Week which I had been doing for a couple of years with my club. I recently completed a ride called GABA which was about 500 miles in Arizonia going from the Grand Canyon to Mexico. GABA terrain is easier than the rides in Colorado, however one day we had wind gusts of 50-60 mph and and I don't like the 90 - 100 degree temperatures even if AZ does not have humidity. So, for an easy ride, Bike Florida is a nice winter vacation ride if you have only been cycling at a spin class or hitting the roads about once per week in early Spring.
