This was right out back of our tent on day 12 of our 2004 summer tour, 1,000 Miles to Nowhere. That's a 3,000 foot drop down the Black Canyon to the Gunnison river. Thankfully I've never been a sleepwalker.

Well, I've only used the Bob mostly off-road just for a brief period, with very little on-road experience. Since switching to full panniers, I have not used the trailer at all, but really for no particular reason though. But one thing that was particularly annoying about the Bob, especially while cranking up these steep fire roads was every time I rode over ruts the trailer seemed to slow me down when its tire tracked over the same rut a second later. That delayed 'pull back' was pretty annoying. But since switching to panniers over these very same fire road climbs, I prefer panniers. I think I climb much more efficiently with the load on the bike.

I guess, you are speaking maybe about the “BOB” trailer – one wheel trailer … .
I can say, I like it very very much, but not possible to find it out in my land. When I am touring with my doughtier Maya, it would be so convenient for me, never mind she needs not much baggage. Interesting that you say about language skills of people here … I am not able to see it and feel a little surprised ….

Well so nice day in BG today for bicycling, I will not miss it.

What a disappointment … I have believed here I will find thousands of wild savages … bicycling in the wilderness, fighting with wild animals, having them for dinner after hard bicycling day … and I see here only 6-7 such real men here … oh no !....., I can not believe it ………… !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...

I have to fess up I'm not really a tough guy. Here's one of my "camping spots" in New Zealand above a bar! However the bar was full of wild savages, myself included.

By the time I got to the bar happy-hour was almost over. That's pretty tough.

Yep, Schwalbe Marathons. I've got them on my commuter and touring bikes. I've had pretty good luck with them too. If you want to impress your LBS they are pronounced "shwa-bay". I camped next to a German guy who said that was the correct pronunciation. They are made in Germany so I guess he knows.

After typing my Pulitzer Prize winning text I scroll down the page to Additional Options and click on Manage Attachment. From there you can browse your hard drive for the picture you want to post.

It took me a while to find the Additional Options area because it was always off screen. I think the size limit of the file is 100k.

The first photo is of the fourth night of my Wales tour. We were camped in a sheep pasture with no "amenities". The white dots in the background are sheep.


The next couple photos are of a place where we camped in the Queensland jungle.

We had enough sheep to count on just about every night of that tour!!

Trouble was ... sheep "sing" the dawn in at sunrise. That got a little noisy!!
