Anyone using Nashbar touring frame?
I'm looking to strip the parts off my old road bike and build a touring bike. I was wondering if the Nashbar frame was worth it or should I step up to the LHT or something similar? My main concern is that the large diameter aluminum will transmit vibration to my feet unless I use fat tires all the time. I took a 5-day tour on my Raleigh road bike with 28mm tires and my feet were numb for two weeks after I returned. Any input greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I am still looking for BB drop for these, i don't see 60cm listed on their site, which is what I think I need. Riding 58cm Raleigh road bike now, with ex-tra tall stem all jacked up.

One of the other regulars here recently built one up for someone. He has good things to say about it. His only negative comment was the welds were not as smooth around the bottom bracket as he likes.

Like many frames it has vertical drop-outs so as long as you don't want to use it with a gear hub in conventional mode, it should be fine. I want one on and off, but never get quite around to it.

I tried to buy one, but after being on backorder for almost three months, I gave up and bought another frame. If you want one of the Nashbars, make double-damned SURE that they have them IN STOCK before you order!

For now I am going to change the bars on my old Trek rigid MTB for touring. I lust after the Rohloff and would untimately want that but untill there is more competition amongst framebuilders the setup is pricy. Maybe I will just put in the order and when it comes change the components over, they are 8-speed and I prefer that to fickle 9 or 10. Thanks for the help!
