The new blue isn't half bad, though.

+1

I wanted a green frame but ended up with a blue one. It looks much better in person, and I'm happy with it. It's more of a slate grey with a touch of blue than a true blue. Try to find some one with a color correct monitor to check out the color, I think you'll be surprised.

AE Bike might have one. It's listed as a 26"er, but no size is given. You might want to give them a call....

Some of us waited forever for it to GO AWAY, so it's kind of funny to hear y'all whining about not being able to get the green. I'm ordering a red one on Friday, so I can build it up myself in my garage. Can't wait.

I just found out about the LHT. Then I saw this:

The only thing I would add is the leather colored bar tape.

I'm a code monkey not a fashion consultant. I need to see something that looks good and copy it. My wife dresses me in the mornings. I haven't seen the new blue or red in any configuration that I like, probably cause people are just now getting their paws on them. That's why I want the green.

I was in the same position as you. I wanted the green, and then they apparently stopped making it. Then I accepted that and wanted the blue. Then finally I wanted the red. Now I just don't care, I can live with all the colors, I'll take any thing, I just want my frame now! It's the frame I'm after so getting a color I really like (as opposed to one I can live with) is just a bonus. Good luck in your search though, I think I ever so slightly prefer green the most too. Maybe it's just because I've seen far more "green LHT" pictures than blue or red and have gotten used to it.

the green blends better, perhaps, with the foilage while stealth camping

My (blue) LHT build went quite smoothly, and it rides so nice. First time I tried building up a bike. I think you will really enjoy it.

To make myself look even sillier, here's why I didn't like the green-I've got a ton of black components to throw into this build once I get the frame, but I hate the way the green looks with the black, sort of like an army surplus bike, LOL. How's that for opinionated? I have been drooling over all the green ones people have been posting for the last couple years, waiting and watching. Plus, there's just something sexy about a red bike...

When I'm riding some forest road or path, I daydream about riding my green, army surplus looking LHT in the woods, camo poncho and foilage obscuring my sillhouette, liberating Norway from the Nazis during WWII.

Is that a silly, "Walter Mitty" type fantasy for a middle aged guy to have about his bicycle or what???

"....and the bike wheels went pocketa-pocketa-pocketa as he evaded hostile German rifle fire en route to fishing trawler of the resistance anchored in the fjord..."

This is how things like Rivendell start.

point well taken, Kris

'It's the Narzi's, they've put in bike lanes all over and I've got to avoid them on the way to the resistances' boat' thought Mitty, as his bike went pocketa pocketa pocketa on the cobbles along the waterfront....

Look closer. They have them in three sizes, 42, 46 and 52.

That's the other thing, I don't have anything against it, and I own a ton of it, (I'm an old-school punk.) I just don't want my bike like that. Anyway, even if I wanted one now, I couldn't get it. (sigh)

Yes, silver looks very nice. I've always liked how you've set up your cockpit area...very nice & clean.

That red one doesn't look half bad. Don't like the blue myself. Another question...why do most run bar end shifters on touring bikes?
