    Velocity Dyad Touring Wheelset

I havent found very many posts on this wheelset (plenty on the dyad rim). So I figured what the heck, Ill try them. Received them last night from fedex. Mounted them this AM on the new LHT. Rode them a while--no pings and much smoother compaired to my deore xt hubs with A719's.
The front is 36 hole black dyad with black dt spokes and black velocity hubs (I know--formula) with cartridge bearings. The rear is 40 hole and all black also.
One thing I noticed right away was how much lighter the velocity set was compared to my A719 set. Ill weigh them later and post back if any one is interested.
I'm not worried about the rims and spokes--just the hubs. Time will tell, I guess.

I just bought a new set of Dyad rims off of Ebay; Phil Wood hubs 36 front, 40 rear. Price paid was $540 including shipping. What a deal!

    Dyad wheels

I bought mine used from a cyclo-crosser for $120. Looked very low miles, not scuffed in brake area. They are both 36 hole and I've put about 3500 miles on mine. About half of the miles are loaded. No problems as yet. Did retension the spokes right after I got them to a bit higher number. They seemed a bit loose for me and Velocity Manufacturing replied with a recommended tension. (yes, I have a Wheelsmith tensiometer)
I've been very impressed with them so far. My two cents... Hope it helps.
    Best, John

Thanks John! I wont worry--Ill just ride. When I ordered the set, Velocity wanted to know use, weight of rider, type of riding, etc. The spoke tension does seem a bit light--But they must know what they're doing, so Ill leave it alone.

Peter White says the Dyad is his favorite touring rim. It weighs 480 grams as oposed to 560 grams for the Mavic A719. It accepts tires 28-60mm as opposed to 28-47mm for the A719. It's also $11.00 cheaper.
