First metric century of the year

Well, I just got back from my first metric century of the year today. It wasn't an organized event, just got on the bike and started riding. Total time for the ride was 3:50......so my average speed was about 26 km/h. I did the ride on my new 29er mountain bike with 2.1's on it. Let me tell you, I can't wait to get that new pair of slicks to go on my other mountain bike. I went with the new bike because I am doing a 8-hour mountain bike race in August and getting used to being on that bike is important. The good thing is that there is no knee soreness, no back soreness, just muscle fatigue which will get better as the season progresses. I was riding with the wind for the first half and then against the wind all the way home (Yes, Saskatchewan has straight roads).

I am looking forward to this summer and making regular touring rides around Sask. with my old mountain bike/ new touring bike. Should be good times.
