Rear rack for specialized sequoia
I just bought a specialized sequoia. I was planning to use an old blackburn expedition rear rack I have. However, the distance between the lower chainstay eyelets is 6.5 inches, the distance between the eyelets on the blackburn rack is less than 5 inches. I don't think I could bend it far enough without breaking or weakening the welds.
Can anyone recommend a rack with enough space between the lower mounting eyelets? Preferably less than $50. Thanks.
hrm....I have a '04 sequoia elite. I have a performance trans-it rack on it. I remember having to spread the legs of the rack a little to get it on. Once it was on, I've had no problems.
Not a real great photo of the rack, but this is all I've got
Here's a delta rack that looks the same as the one I have:
That's why I thought it was made by delta. The rack is pretty cool, just below those big circular holes at the bottom (where you'd attach the bungee from your pannier) there are two threaded holes where I attach my fender stays.
BTW - the transit rack is now different than the one I have. I bought mine a couple years ago.
I also have an '04 Elite and I went with the Topeak Explorer rack for about $25 at REI. I previously found a deal on a Topeak trunk bag with fold out panniers so I wanted to make use of the QR attachment they use. I think I might have had to spread it a bit, but not bad and I'm happy with it. It has a solid top which is nice for wet conditions.
I bought a Trek Back Rack 2 . It fit perfectly with no bending. Thanks for the replies.
