Surly hubs?

Surly has some hubs out in 135 width, they mount freewheels. It's part of the their single/fixie line, but I was wondering if the freewheel mounting threads allowed one to mount multi gear freewheels, and therefore if the hubs could be used for touring. They are about LX price and sound pretty rugged. They have solid chromo axles, or Chromo QR axles. I just assumed they were fixie only, but the freewheel threading looks about the same as on any freewheel hubs.

Scratch that. Andy says one can mount the freewheel cluster but it won't clear the rear drop.
