Yeah, that's too much... but I bet they will find a buyer at that price. I'd try to buy it for $300 cash.

an 18 year old bike? at some point in time, ALL bikes become worth 100 bucks. that one is close.

Deore derailluers and a Sugino? cheap parts. an 18 year old Shogun?? whoah. run, don't walk , to a better deal. those people are pirates.

Sugino made one of the nicest touring triples ever, the TAT, and Deore was higher in the Shimano lineup back then so the bike may be decent. What tubeset is the frame made from, what kind of wheelset, barends or downtube shifters ? 300 $ could be a fair price, 400 seems a bit steep.

sugino STILL makes the darned nicest touring crankset, available with both steel or alloy rings, and brand new TODAY its under 70 bucks.

and the good stuff in the 80's was the SUNTOUR componentry.....

Bikes Direct is selling an OK touring bike for $560 new delievered-- so I think the price of used touring bikes should take that into account. The Winsor Touring bike is a way better bike than that Shogun.

If you can scrape up $560, I wouldn't mess around with used bikes.
