mustache bars and handlebar bags

i am looking into mustache bars as a possibilty for the bicycle i am building up. one thing i don't know is if they will allow for handlebar bags. i have no particular brand in mind, i am just curious if anyone runs mustaches with a bag. do the two front bends hinder access to the bag? are maps more difficult to read?? am i worrying too much?!

Here's what's on Arkel's Web Site:

Note: "Mustache" and "Butterfly" handlebars are not compatible with handlebar bags of any make or model that we are aware of.

If your bike has an ahead stem there's a chance to mount a bar bag in the way Michel Gagnon explains in his site: https://mgagnon.net/velo/potence-double.en.shtml where this pic is taken from.

i must say that i am surprised a bit.

i have searched and found a fair amount of information on mustache bars, but i never would have thought that there may not be a way (besides mounting a second stem) to attach a handlebar bag.

can anyone else out there think of something?

Your worries are justified; the shape of moustache bars is a problem. The bends serve really no useful function, and they unnecessarily complicate the installation of a handlebar bag. However, a solution has been invented, and the French call it 'Porteur' bars. Many years ago, when French bicycle makers still ruled, many mixte-framed touring cycles in particular came with porteur-style bars (made by Philippe and others). Nitto B-601 Promenade bars are a modern equivalent.

The Baggins Hobo bag is another one that should work on a moustache bar.
