Is 2500 too big for a front pannier?

I am thinking of trying front panniers. I have never used them
before, I was wondering what the best size was. While I am a lite tourer,
I want to try something different.... a saddlebag and front panniers.

1500 (per pair) is a more common volume for front panniers. I have seen 2500 though on the front of tandems.
