2004 Specialized Sequoia Elite, 1990 Cannondale ST400, 1987 Trek 400 Elance and Schwinn Voyageur, 1985 Specialized Expedition and Panasonic Pro-ATB, 1984 Miyata 1000 and Bridgestone 400, 1975 Motobecane Le Champion
They are one of the better vintage models from the golden years of touring bikes (early to mid 80's) with good touring geometry and all the nice to have braze ons and plenty of room for panniers, wide tires, and fenders. I built an '83 model up about 13 years ago and it's been great for me. I often find myself preferring to ride it over a more sport or racing style bike for non-touring rides.
If you can one from that era at a good price I would jump on it. Be careful not to get the present version that Specialized has named Expedition because it is a lower end comfort bike and far different from the original.
If you get it and want some ideas for the build, send me a PM and I'd be glad to tell you how mine is equipped.
