Looking for a vacation
Hi all,
My father and I are planning on taking a biking tour this summer. National or international, it doesn't matter. What does matter, though, is that we have fun! We are interested in a guided tour with a guide that is willing to point out what makes the location interesting. We are planning on several days with milage not to exceed 100/day. If anyone has any recommendations or past experiences we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

An enjoyable tour is around the Great Lakes. Not too hot and the Canadian side has a $ advantage for touring Americans. There are a number of off road trails so you are not always fighting the semi's. You don't have to take a guided tour, but they are available.

You might find it helpful to check out some other bike tour sites. Here are a few links:
crazyguyonabike - travelogues galore! - check the links section - there's one for tour companies and a big one for "touring pages and trevelogues"
ken kifer's touring pages - click on "bicycle touring links page"
Both sites have numerous links to many other bike touring web pages. You should be able to find somewhere you'll like to go!
For the Niagara Penninsula, Steve Bauer (former tour de France competitor) provides some very interesting tours of the area at stevebauer.com

A good search engine for looking for bike tours, try "Pedalling.com." First decide what kind of ride you want, put those specifications in its' search engine and explore.
