Recommendations on Routes along the Ohio River?

I have a route from Lafayette, Indiana to Cincinnati, and Evansville, Indiana to Lafayette.
What I need is a routing recommendation along the Ohio River along the Indiana Side from Cincinnati to Evansville. Help please?

    Thanks!

    Tom,
Check out the Indiana portion of the Ohio River Scenic Byway at
    http://www.byways.org/browse/byways/2453/travel.html

Not sure if this will be "along the Ohio River" to you.

Are you riding into Cincinnati itself? Here's an idea for Cincinnati to Madison IN. I've only ridden the first 45 miles of this 90 mile route. It avoids going US50 through Lawrenceburg IN on the other side of the river.

The first 45 miles are bike friendly. There's one short, steep hill (maybe 10-12% grade?) at mile 9.7, otherwise mostly rolling. The sections along the Ohio River are quite flat.

The rest should be reasonably low traffic. There's some unknowns about this route. Routeslip's google map shows a ferry at Warsaw. I'm not sure if it still exists. I think bikes can go over the dam bridge at mile 63, but it's been a few years since I've been there. You should try to route through Madison, it's a great old river town.

    The routeslip.com route.

That's an even better suggestion! Looks good, I'll check into the Ferry and other crossing info from my end. If you are able to get more info, though, feel free to pass it on!

I would try to check out that plantation that Colonel Kurtz was talking about where "Heaven just fell on the Earth in the form of gardenias," just so long as it didn't turn me into a raving bald lunatic who splashes water on his bald pate and cryptically babbles about his sociopathic philosophy of life.

I'm assuming you're using my routes from CIBA's site for your Lafayette - Cincy and Evansville - Lafayette ride. I'm in the process of creating a Harrison, OH to probably New Harmony on the West side of IN which will pass through Evansville.
In the meantime most of the routing is complete in my book Back Roads of Indiana available at Hodsons Bay Co. in West Lafayette. You can order one at 765-743-3506.
There are multiple suggested routes in the book on remote scenic paved roads in counties bordering the Ohio river.

Well, well, Mr. Stormcrowe. It's Pepsi Joy! (now Pepsi free for 66 days...)

You may want to check Adventure Cycling's new UGRR route. I think you could pick it up in Henderson, KY and follow all the way to Cincinnati. Not the most direct route, but an option. I'm actually co-leading their tour on that route this year--leaving Mobile Alabama Apr. 14. We'll be hitting Henderson around May 1.

PM if you want more info. I have copies of the maps if you want to take a look at them.
