Carbon touring fork?
I suspect the answer is "no", but does anyone know of a touring fork, with fender and rack mounts etc, manufactured from carbon? Who makes it?

No offense but why would you want a touring fork made out of carbon. It's not as if you need a touring bike to be light, but you do need it to be durable. Moreover, the last thing you want to do is put extra stress on carbon by loading up a front wheel with panniers, that's just a recipe for disaster.

I just tried to open my post to see if it would open and it didn't. Maybe type it in and it may work. Anyhow it tells all about what you can pretty much do with carbon forks.They say, they may replace steel down the road. I don't know anything about that,but you may be able to read it in Velon news.

Hit the "forks" button.
It's the 2nd fork listed. "Carbon Cyclocross Fork" for $95. It has eyelets for a rack, but only comes in 1 1/8 steerer size.

The Nashbar fork looks good. You could use an Old Man Mountain rack which puts the weight on the skewer rather than the dropouts. It is, after all, a cyclocross fork so it had better be built to take some abuse.

I have a carbon touring fork with thru front rack mounts and canti mounts. I got it from Marinoni. It does not have a makers name on it. A 37 tire will fit in it.
I weight 230 and have used it on my CX bike for two years and Marinoni told me it would handle my weight with ease. No problems after 8000km.

specialized tricross forks are carbon with canti studs, dropout eyelets and midfork eyelets. i don't think they'e too keen on selling just the forks though.
